December 2022 – Plenty Victoria: Bottles of AFFF sitting in an old CFA sink that is to be demolished in next couple of days.
Hopefully, they make a story out of it. If they don’t will have to circulate as no one has control over this stuff if there are stockpiles.
The photos were passed on yesterday with full access to anyone walking by.
There is a fence around the site this morning.
The following can be seen or accessed by any person walking their dog past an old CFA shed in Plenty about to be demolished.
A new fire station has been built nearby and the area is to be levelled and resurfaced with topsoil in the next 4 days to be part of a green wedge in Nillumbik Shire.
Believe the address is corner of Memorial Drive and Old Yan Yean Rd Plenty, Victoria.
Have to question:
- Why are there stockpiles of AFFF toxic PFAS foam? If someone swallowed that amount of fluid they would die.
- Why is there toxic Gramoxone herbicide which is Paraquat sitting on a sink with AFFF as they are dangerous – don’t know if container full or empty substances? https://www.abc.
net.au/news/rural/2021-03-31/ one-sip-of-paraquat-could- kill-but-farmers-stand-by-it/ 100039266 - Is the stockpile of chemicals going to be poured down the sink?
- Why are they just stockpiled in a public space?
- Is the area contaminated similar to the Fiskville site or contaminated Diamond Creek? Has there been testing?
