Sydney Metro Airports (SMA) is investigating per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination at Camden Airport.
PFAS were detected at two locations in one drainage channel at the airport, and investigations at the site are ongoing.
The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) will continue to engage with SMA to provide support where possible, and ensure an appropriate risk-based approach is adopted throughout the investigations.
The EPA is leading the NSW Government response to PFAS and will provide further information on the Camden Airport investigations as it becomes available.
